Class Rules and Race Schedule

Class Rules and Race Schedule

I'd like to welcome all of our racers to the Inaugural 1up Racing West Coast Invitational hosted by Finishline R/C Raceway. We're looking to bring back the spirit of the Reedy Race as it was always my personal favorite race of the year and we'll be running the same format and schedule for this event. We haven't had this level of talent on the west coast since the last Reedy Race in 2019 so I'm expecting a great weekend for racers and spectators alike.

Good luck and I'll see you at Finishline!

Race Promoter and 1up Racing President

---------------

Open/Spec Class Race Tires racers will receive one set of marked race tires with their entry. Two additional sets of marked race tires may be purchased for qualifying and racing. Drivers who qualify for the AAA mains may purchase one additional set of race tires AFTER qualifying has completed.

You are allowed to add glue to the seam as needed to ensure a good bond. SIDEWALL GLUING IS NOT ALLOWED. Trimming of the center seam is allowed, scuffing the tire surface with Scotch Brite or similar media is allowed. NO WHEEL MODIFICATIONS OF ANY KIND ARE ALLOWED.

Open/Spec Class Additive and Warmers are open.

Open/Spec seeding must be done on marked event tires but does not have to be done on your numbered race tires.

---------------

Invitational Class tires will be kept in impound at all times - drivers and mechanics will have access to race tires in a controlled area on Thursday. Spec additive will be Mighty Gripper Yellow (supplied).

Update 4/22/24 we had originally planned on allowing tire warmers for the Invitational Class but with these being banned at the upcoming worlds we have decided not to use them at this race to provide the best platform for our traveling racers to test on.

---------------

Open/Spec Class Qualifying and Mains
The Open/Spec Classes will have 4 rounds of IFMAR style qualifying with your best 2 rounds counting. There will be triple mains for everyone with your best 2 finishes counting.

Tie Breaker for qualifying and mains will be the combined laps and time of your two fastest runs. If an additional tie breaker is needed we will go with the single fastest run.

Invitational Class Scoring
The Invitational Class will feature 12 rounds of heads-up racing with your best 10 runs counting. Heats have been generated by AI to ensure the most even and fair grid positions possible.

Tie Breaker for Invitational competition will be the combined laps and time of your three fastest runs. If an additional tie breaker is needed we will go with the single fastest run.
